Scholarship Description

Since it was founded in 1890, the General Federation of Women's Clubs has been a unifying force, bringing together local women's clubs from around the country and throughout the world. Although there is considerable diversity in the ages, interests, and experiences of GFWC clubwomen, all are united by a dedication to community improvement through volunteer service. Throughout their generosity, GFWC Massachusetts offers numerous scholarships.

The GFWC Massachusetts Catherine E. Philbin Scholarship is available exclusively to public health majors who are residents of Massachusetts. This is open to both undergraduates and graduate students. Besides the application, students must also submit: a letter of reference; a copy of a driver's license or school ID; a transcript; and a personal statement of not more than 500 words addressing your professional goals and how they relate to public health. Dollar amounts for the scholarship will vary, though it starts at $500.
