Charles E Alexander Transportation Engineering Scholarship

A candidate for a Charles E Alexander Transportation Engineering Scholarship award must meet each of several criteria. To be considered for the award, a candidate must:

  • Be enrolled in Civil Engineering at an ABET accredited university in the State of Alabama
  • Be academically classified by the university as a junior or higher
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to the discipline of transportation engineering
  • Be recommended by a faculty member or Member or Affiliate Member of ALSITE
  • Demonstrate a financial need for the scholarship
  • ot be related to any Board Member of ALSITE Scholarships, Inc

To apply for a scholarship, a candidate must submit a completed official application along with the recommendation of a faculty member from an accredited Civil Engineering Department at a university in Alabama and/or the recommendation of a Member or Affiliate Member of the Alabama Section of the Institute of Transportation Engineers.

Alabama Scholarships for Dependents of Blind Parents

Alabama Scholarship for Dependents of Blind Parents is an award to cover instructional fees and tuition at an Alabama state institution of higher learning for children of families in which the head of the family is blind and whose family income is insufficient to provide educational benefits. Students must apply within two years of high school graduation.

The Alabama Student Assistance Program

The Alabama Student Assistance Program is a state-supported and federally-funded grant program which is designed to assist financially-needy students. It is the state's only need-based student aid program for Alabama residents attending postsecondary educational institutions in Alabama. Only undergraduate students who are Alabama residents attending eligible Alabama institutions may apply. Nearly 80 Alabama institutions participate in the program.
