College Money Management Tips

Keeping control of expenses is very important for today’s college students. Developing good money management skills while you are in school is one of the most important things you can do to prepare yourself for life after college.

Money Management Tips for Students:

  • Balance your bank statement as soon as it arrives each month.
  • Be meticulous about recording debit card transactions.
  • Don’t spend money you don’t have with credit cards.
  • Set a budget and stick to it.
  • Start building an emergency fund.

You may find you'll fall short of perfection in your attempts to religiously follow all of the above suggestions, but at least if you make the effort maybe you will get close enough to spare you a lot of money-related stress once you graduate.
