Find Scholarships, Other Financial Aid at Scholarships.com

Kevin N. Ladd

The possibilities for improving your ability to pay for your college education are boundless at Scholarships.com. You might find a scholarship or maybe even a combination of several scholarships and/or grants that relieve your financial burden and you might also find a lender that will help you get the rest of the money you need once you have all the scholarships for which you qualify.

Browse around a bit longer, though, and I am sure you will also find value in the many other resources offered at www.scholarships.com. The college search is extremely easy to use and the site also features articles about all manner of college concerns and facts about financial aid in general. Though you can most likely get through the initial free college scholarship search portion of Scholarships.com in about 15 minutes, I would recommend sticking around awhile to see what else you can find.

  • Search.
The first step is easy. Just go to www.scholarships.com and register right on the home page. You will then be taken through several pages of fairly general questions that will allow our search engine to filter out the scholarships in our database for which you do not qualify and return a list of the rest. Be as specific as possible for the most accurate results.
  • Review your search results.
You can sort your results by relevancy, title, due date, or dollar amount- they will be sorted by relevancy by default, meaning the awards that seem best suited to you, based on the information you have provided, will be at the top of your list. Click on the name of each scholarship. Read the award description and decide whether you feel you have a good chance of winning it. If you feel it is within your grasp, save it in your “My Favorites” section so that you will be able to locate it easily when you return to Scholarships.com.
  • Apply.
Now it’s time to make your move. Be sure to follow the instructions of the scholarship provider to ensure you will not be disqualified. Contact the provider via their preferred method of contact. If you are specifically instructed to email your request and you mail them via postal mail or phone them, you may fall out of favor with that particular scholarship provider. Visit their website whenever possible for the most recent and accurate information about their scholarship and always follow instructions to the letter. Scholarship providers love an applicant who respects their wishes.
  • Look Around.
Although it’s our biggest draw, our free scholarship search is not the only thing on our site that is of great value to those attending or thinking about attending college. We have a wealth of resources; Dozens of terrific articles covering all sorts of subjects- all relating to student life. We have a free college search that will tell you all kinds of things about a school- including tuition, room and board and much more.

Follow the above steps and don’t hesitate to contact us with any questions. I am confident that many of you will be successful in getting one or more scholarships if you just follow the advice provided above and that every one of you will find at least something of value when visiting www.scholarships.com. Whether you are looking for a scholarship, low-interest loan, valuable information about the whole process of attending school or all of the above, Scholarships.com is where you will find the best results.
