Society of Automobile Engineers - SAE Engineering Scholarships
Through generous contributions from various corporations and universities, SAE is
proud to award scholarship money to both undergraduate and graduate engineering
students. SAE scholarships assist in developing the future engineering workforce
by helping students achieve their dreams of becoming an engineer. Funded through
the SAE Foundation, these scholarships encourage academic excellence and help students
around the world to pursue their passion for engineering.
SAE Engineering Scholarships
A number of scholarships are offered to high school seniors who are interested in
studying engineering or a related science. These scholarships are made possible
by the support of the corporate and academic communities. Applications are accepted
from September 1 - December 1 of the student's senior year.
SAE Long Term Member Sponsored Scholarships
Through the generosity of SAE long-term members, several $1,000 scholarships are
awarded to college juniors who will be entering their senior year between August
1 and February 28. Applicants must be active SAE student members. Self-nominations
are accepted, as well as nominations by SAE Faculty Advisors or SAE Section Officers
or Community Leaders.
SAE/David Hermance Hybrid Technologies Scholarship
One $2,500 non-renewable scholarship will be awarded every year. Eligible applicants
must be U.S. citizens enrolled full-time as a sophomore in a U.S. university. Applicants
must plan to pursue an engineering career in the field of Advanced Technology Vehicles
which include hybrids, fuel cells, alternative fueled vehicles, advanced powertrains,
etc. This scholarship is made possible through the generous support of Toyota.
Yanmar/SAE Scholarship
Applicants must be juniors entering their senior year of undergraduate engineering
or enrolled in a post graduate engineering or related science program. Applicants
must be pursuing a course of study or research related to the conservation of energy
in transportation, agriculture and construction, or power generation. This scholarship
is made possible through the generous support of Yanmar Diesel America Corporation
Maximum Amount: $10,000
