The TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Program

The TCU Texas Youth Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Program recognizes young high school age entrepreneurs for their success in business. The award is open to any Texas high school student who has started and managed a business. To be eligible you must be currently enrolled in high school. The business must currently be in operation for at least one year. Scholarships totaling up to $20,000 may be awarded. The top winner will receive a $5,000 scholarship and five other winners will receive a $1,000 scholarship to any school they choose. If the student attends TCU, the scholarships will double.

The LINC TELACU Education Foundation

Each year, the LINC TELACU Education Foundation awards hundreds of scholarships to students in California, Texas, Illinois and New York. To apply for a scholarship, download the application from http://www.telacu.com and return it, with required attachments, to the office indicated on the application.

YouthLaunch Scholarship for Outstanding Service

YouthLaunch is an Austin-based nonprofit organization that promotes the empowerment of young people through service. Since 1994, YouthLaunch has developed and supported empowering service programs and opportunities for young Texans, and in 2001, created a scholarship program to raise the profile of youth service and to honor young leaders who are making a difference in their community. YouthLaunch is also a certifying organization for the President’s Volunteer Service Awards, and provides these awards to scholarship recipients.

Terry Foundation Scholarships

The Terry Foundation is a Houston-based scholarship program founded to provide scholarships to outstanding Texas High school graduates for attendance at public colleges and universities within the state. Established in 1986 by Houston philanthropists Howard & Nancy Terry, the Foundation has assisted hundreds of Terry Scholars in meeting the Founders' goal of helping young people to help themselves.

South Texas Academic Rising Scholars Scholarships

The STARS scholarship is a $2,000 scholarship for college students from South Texas. Scholarship recipients are chosen on the basis of academic achievement, personal strengths, leadership and financial need. Eligibility requirements:

  • Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident with a permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.
  • Have a permanent address within the 22 South Texas county area.
  • Be an undergraduate or graduate student enrolled full-time in a degree seeking program at a U.S. accredited college or university for the full academic year.
  • Have earned at least 12 undergraduate credit hours in a U.S. accredited college or university.
  • Have a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.7 on a 4.0 scale.

The Texas Conference for Women Scholarships

Each year, the Texas Conference for Women, thanks to the generosity of its sponsors, awards six $5,000 scholarships to outstanding female college students who balance academics, service, and leadership to make a difference in the community. Scholarships are given in each of the following categories: The Arts, Business, Education, Nursing, Math and Science, Public Service.
