I have visited Widener three times, applied, and been accepted. What impressed me the most about it was the people. Everybody was friendly, helpful, cheerful, and encouraging. At some schools I visited, this was not the case, but here I could tell that if I go to school there, I will be encouraged to do well, both by my peers and by the faculty. The class sizes are small and the professors really get to know the students at a personal level. I sat in on a class on one of my visits, and at my next visit I ran into the professor who taught the class. He remembered my name. There are no music majors at Widener but there is a music program available and several ensembles so that students can continue to make music throughout college. Widener is also big on community service, and every time I visit I hear about more opportunities to help out the local community. I really like this school.
