College of Wooster Clarence Beecher Allen Scholarship
Clarence Beecher Allen Scholarships honor Clarence Beecher Allen, the first black graduate of the College of Wooster and a member of the class of 1892. Awards of $16,000 and $22,500 per year for four years are awarded to entering students with a demonstrated record of academic achievement and promise of continued success in college.
To be considered for an Allen Scholarship, you must first apply for admissions to the College of Wooster. Awards are based on merit without regard to financial need. Candidates must be nominated by a secondary school counselor or teacher, by a church, community or business leader, or by another individual in a position to identify an outstanding candidate.
