Stephens College Biology Scholarship Competition
Students interested in majoring in Biology – including but not limited to those interested in pursuing a higher degree such as medicine – are invited to apply for a $20,000 Biology scholarship at Stephens College. The scholarship is $5,000 per year, renewable for up to four years based on specific academic criteria.
To be considered, students must register and submit an online form then submit a short (2 page) research paper on the controversy of dyes in our food supply. Please our website to view specific instructions and to register your intent to submit an entry. Upon registration you will be directed to the upload site.
Students must apply and be accepted to Stephens College unconditionally to receive the scholarship. Submissions must be received by January 13th at 11:59 p.m. CST. The scholarship will be awarded to a recent high school graduate entering Stephens College in Fall. Students may not receive more than one program scholarship and are thus encouraged to submit for only one academic program scholarship competition.
The Biology faculty will judge all entries and determine the recipient. The recipient will be awarded a $5,000 scholarship, renewable each academic year. Additional scholarships may be available based on entries received. The recipient and all applicants will be notified by January 27th.
The scholarship will be applied to the recipient’s account each year, one-half in the Fall Semester and one-half in the Spring Semester. To renew the scholarship, the student must maintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average at Stephens and declare a major in Biology.
