LCF Dale E. Siefkes Scholarship
The Dale E. Siefkes Memorial Scholarship was established in 1996. Dale Siefkes had a passion for education and his wife, Viola, wanted to establish a living legacy to assist students who have that same passion. Dale graduated from Filley High School in Filley, Nebraska, in 1956. He attended UNL and eventually received his Ph.D. in education. Dale held administrative positions in several Nebraska schools serving as principal for six years and superintendent for 13 years. Beginning in 1979, Dale was a research analyst for education in the Legislature. From 1984 until his death in 1994, Dale served as executive director of the School Board Association.
One-year scholarship awarded to a junior- or senior-level college student attending a Nebraska college or university. Applicants must be pursuing a degree in education and must have a GPA of 3.8 or better on a 4.0 scale. Applicants must demonstrate financial need.
