Raymond W. Sarber Awards
The Raymond W. Sarber Awards recognize academic achievement and outstanding research accomplishments and potential.
Nominees must be a student at the undergraduate or predoctoral level, attending an accredited institution in the United States, in an academic program involving microbiology. Two awards are presented at the ASM General Meeting, one to an undergraduate and one to a graduate student. (They will be judged separately.) Winners will receive a framed certificate and cash prize of $2,000.
Nominations will be reconsidered annually so long as eligibility criteria are met and an updated curriculum vitae is submitted. Self-nominations and more than one nomination per nominee will not be accepted. Only one nominating form and two supporting forms are accepted per nomination. One of the two supporters must be a supervisor or mentor, and the other may be an academic advisor or colleague. Nominations must consist of the following:
- Curriculum vitae, emailed to email@example.com
- Statement, no longer than two pages, from the student outlining academic achievements, research accomplishments, and future career goals, emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org
- Nominating form
- Supporting form
