Scribendi Writing and Art Contest

The Scribendi Writing and Art Contest is a contest for students already enrolled in university Honors programs in the western region of the U.S. The annual contest is funded by the Western Regional Honors Council. Only students currently enrolled in an undergraduate Honors college or program with membership in the Western Regional Honors Council are eligible to submit work to be considered for the WRHC Scribendi Awards. Please review submission guidelines on the website listed below before submitting work.

Query letters regarding scholarship funding will not be answered.

WRHC Awards (Annual)
All undergraduate students submitting work to Scribendi, who are currently enrolled in an Honors program or college in the 11-state Western honors council region are eligible for the Western Regional Honors Conference Award in Short Fiction, Essays, Poetry, Visual Art, Photography, and Digital Art. Each winner is awarded $250.00.

Poetry: A limit of 3 poems, any style, no longer than 5 pages each.
Essays: A limit of 3 essays, no longer than 5,000 words each.
Short Fiction: A limit of 3 works of short fiction, no longer than 6,000 words each.
Foreign Language: A limit of 3 pieces accompanied by a translation, with appropriate acknowledgments to translator, if applicable.
Visual Art: A limit of 3 works, two- or three-dimensional, in print or slide form.
Photography: A limit of 3 prints or slides in black and white or color.
Digital Art: A limit of 3 works in hard copy form as well as on disk.

Deadline:
The deadline for each year's edition will be posted on the website in August.
