Stanfield and D'Orlando Art Scholarships

The Stanfield Scholarships Program is funded by a trust created by Mrs. Marion Barr Stanfield for Unitarian Universalists studying the field of art.

Marion Barr Stanfield Art Scholarship

The Marion Barr Stanfield Art Scholarship is for either graduate or undergraduate Unitarian Universalist students preparing for a career in fine arts. The terms of the trust limit eligibility to those in the study of painting, drawing, photography, and/or sculpture. Performing arts majors are not eligible.

Pauly D'Orlando Memorial Art Scholarship

The Pauly D'Orlando Memorial Art Scholarship is funded by a trust set up by the First Unitarian Church of New Orleans. Eligibility requirements for this scholarship are the same as those for the Stanfield Art Scholarship. Art applicants for the Stanfield and D'Orlando scholarships are considered together.

The deadline for the completed application (PDF) is February 15. Criteria for recipients include an active relationship with Unitarian Universalism, financial need, and enrollment in an accredited institution. The recipient of each scholarship will be a person whom the committee believes will promote Unitarian Universalist values in the larger world.

Scholarships are awarded for one year; however students may reapply each year if they wish to continue receiving financial assistance. Scholarship winners are notified in May for the academic year that begins the following September.
