Wayne V. Black Scholarship

Established in 1928, the Energy Telecommunication and Electrical Association (ENTELEC) is the premier association providing a forum for SCADA, Automation and Communications technologies in the energy industry. As a global authority on the industry, ENTELEC empowers professionals to increase their organizational value through education and networking opportunities.

Through its strategic plan, Staying Ahead of the Curve, ENTELEC is committed to providing quality educational programming for all levels of energy professionals, from novice to executive. The creation of the Wayne V. Black Scholarship Award is consistent with this goal.

Applicant Eligibility and Qualifications
- Applicant must be an entering freshman or a full-time undergraduate student in good academic standing at an accredited college or university in the United States or Canada.
- Applicant must be working towards a Bachelor’s degree in one of the following curricula:
- Engineering/ Engineering Technology
- Computer Science/MIS
- Pre-law
- Political Science
- Telecommunications/Information Technology
- Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident or Canadian citizen.
- If an entering freshman, the applicant must have had a high school GPA of at least 3.0 out of a possible 4.0. If an entering sophomore, junior or senior, the applicant must have had a GPA of 2.75 or better out of a possible 4.0 GPA for the last two consecutive quarters or semesters.
- Family members of Active members of the ENTELEC Board of Directors are not eligible to apply.
