Walt Bartram Memorial Education Award
Mr. Walt Bartram passed away in 1975 during his term as Chairman of SME Orange County Chapter 119. His widow requested that a donation be made to the Walt Bartram Memorial Fund for Education purposes. Chapter 119 then raised additional funds for this award and pledged that earned interest from this fund would be made available to worthy educational projects and/or scholarships among SME members.
In 1998 at a Chapter 119 Executive Council meeting, it was voted to donate this Fund and other chapter monies to the Desert Pacific Region and then donated and entrusted to the SME Education Foundation, for the benefit of students who reside in the areas of New Mexico, Arizona, or Southern California.
