Marriott Minority Entrepreneurs Scholarship Program

Marriott International and the IFA Educational Foundation have teamed up to sponsor the Minority Entrepreneurs Scholarship Program. The purpose of the program is to help and recognize minority students by providing scholarship funds to college students who are enrolled in business, franchising and/or entrepreneurial studies. Five $3,000 scholarship awards will be presented annually.

Who Can Apply?
College students - To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be enrolled in an accredited college or university.
Executive education programs - Adult entrepreneurs pursuing executive education must have at least five years of business ownership or managerial experience, as well as excellent credentials, including employment experience.
All applicants must be considered a member of a minority group – African-American, American-Indian, Hispanic, and Asian-American. Applicant must be a U.S. citizen.

What Can the Awards Pay For?
Certain fields of study are earmarked for the financial awards. Students should either be enrolled in courses or programs relating to business, finance, marketing, hospitality, franchising or entrepreneurship. Students should describe current academic programs in the space provided on the application form. Adult entrepreneurs should be enrolled in professional development courses related to franchising, such as those recognized by the Institute of Certified Franchise Executives (ICFE).

How Do You Get Started?
Download the application from our website. Applications will NOT be mailed to applicants. Complete the application form and submit it to the IFA Educational Foundation. Students must also provide an official certified copy of their academic transcript. Adult entrepreneurs must submit a resume summarizing professional and academic experience. Applicants must specify the program for which any and all scholarship award funds will be used.

Application Deadline
Scholarship application and supporting documents are due June 15th. Due to the volumne of applications, only those selected will be contacted. Scholarship awards are announced in June of each year.
