NTA Dr. Bill Newton - Kathy Neville Professional Scholarship

**NOTE: This scholarship offers one scholarship (#1) for training and one scholarship (#2) for a symposium.**

Dr. Bill Newton – Kathy Neville Scholarship #1 (one at $1,000 [for training])
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Citizen or permanent resident of any country
- Entering or working in the travel and tourism industry
- Have successfully completed and fully paid for the International Tour Management Institute’s (ITMI) Tour Guide or Tour Director Certification training (a U. S. state-licensed school) no more than 12 months prior to the scholarship application deadline date

REQUIRED ITEMS
- Passport or Alien Registration Card (i.e. U.S. Green Card or the equivalent) as proof of permanent residency
- Resume
- Evaluation form and letter of recommendation from a faculty member in your field of study, or an industry professional; the industry must be related to your field of study
- Proof of Tour Guide or Tour Director Certification training completion at ITMI, i.e. copy of certificate of training completion; and proof of full payment from ITMI for the Certification training, i.e. copy of receipt showing full payment for the course
- Essay: If you are entering the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry, discuss why you have chosen to enter the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. How do you expect the professional development training you completed to benefit you in your future travel, tourism, and hospitality career? Mention any awards or commendations you have received relating to the travel, and hospitality industry. If you are continuing to work in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry, discuss why you have chosen to continue working in the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry. How has the professional development training you completed benefitted you in your current travel, tourism, and hospitality career? Mention any awards or commendations you have received relating to the travel, tourism, and hospitality industry.


Dr. Bill Newton – Kathy Neville Scholarship #2 (one at $500 [for symposium])
ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
- Citizen or permanent resident of any country
- Entering or working in the travel and tourism industry
- Have attended and fully paid for the ITMI annual Symposium no more than 12 months prior to the scholarship application deadline date

REQUIRED ITEMS
- Passport or Alien Registration Card (i.e. U.S. Green Card or the equivalent) as proof of permanent residency
- Resume
- Evaluation form and letter of recommendation from a faculty member in your field of study, or an industry professional; the industry must be related to your field of study
- Proof of attendance at the ITMI annual Symposium, i.e. copy of official badge for ITMI Symposium; and proof of full payment from ITMI for the symposium, i.e. copy of receipt showing full payment for the symposium
- Essay: If you are entering or working in the travel and tourism industry, and attended the ITMI professional symposium, in place of an essay, please submit a report detailing why you attended the symposium, what you learned at the conference, what benefits you received, and how the experience relates to your plans as a travel and tourism industry professional. Mention any awards or commendations you have received relating to the travel and tourism industry.
