Heartland Foundation Bill and Mary Russell Scholarship

The Bill and Mary Russell Scholarship Fund has been established to provide financial assistance for those pursuing educational opportunities by developing their knowledge and skill toward a career in nursing or a health care field. A limited number of scholarships are available to reach those most in need of help.

To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must reside within the Heartland Foundation service region which includes the following counties:
- Missouri: Andrew, Atchison, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Clay, Clinton, Daviess, DeKalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte, Ray, and Worth counties
- Iowa: Decatur, Fremont, Page, Ringgold, and Taylor counties
- Kansas: Atchison, Brown, Doniphan, and Nemaha counties
- Nebraska: Nemaha and Richardson counties

All recipients must be accepted and enrolled in 12 hours of study for a regular semester or equivalent to full-time status in an approved nursing or health-related program. Students enrolled in a pre-health related program will not be eligible for consideration. They may, however, apply once preparatory classes are completed and upon their admission to the professional components of the major sought (i.e. School of Nursing, Medicine, Pharmacy, etc).
