Francis D. Lyon Scholarship

The Francis D. Lyon Scholarships are available to students of film making. Mr. Lyon had a distinguished motion picture and television career as a film editor, director and producer. He received an Oscar from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences for best film editor in 1948 for the movie "Body and Soul."

Both undergraduate and graduate students are invited to apply. To be considered for a Lyon Scholarship, a student must have completed two full years of college by June 30th of the year the scholarship is to be awarded. Criteria for selecting recipients is evidence of talent (an applicant is strongly encouraged to include a work sample as part of his/her application; please contact us for information about supplying a work sample), academic excellence and financial need.
