Alaska International Education Foundation

The Alaska International Education Foundation (AIEF) offers limited grants and scholarships to individuals participating in education and research endeavors aimed at furthering understanding between the people and institutions of Alaska and those of other nations.

The AIEF supports: students for studies in Alaska and abroad; student and faculty exchange programs; participation in conferences, workshops and research studies involving Alaska and foreign nations; and a variety of other projects consistent with AIEF's goal.

Irma Scavenius, a long-time Alaskan teacher, created Alaska International Education Foundation with the goal of increasing mutual understanding between Alaskans and people of other countries. AIEF is organized as a not-for-profit corporation under Section 501(c)3 of the Internal Revenue Code.

There will be two funding periods in the coming year. The first deadline for applications to be postmarked or received by AIEF is June 1 with awards to be made by July 1. The second funding period requires applications to be postmarked on or received by AIEF on October 1. Awards will be made and applicants notified by November 1.
