Drug & Alcohol Abuse Prevention Essay Contest Scholarship

Available ONLY in the following states:
Colorado, Idaho, Minnesota, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming.

Eligibility:

1. You must be a senior either presently or in the coming fall.
2. You must have a grade point average of 2.5.
3. You plan to attend college after graduation.

All you need to do is write an essay (600-1000 words) about a personal encounter you or someone you know has had with drug and/or alcohol abuse, how it was dealt with, and, in your opinion, what was right or wrong about the way the incident or problem was handled. Criteria for the winning essay are the same as an essay written for a high school
English class, i.e.: thought content, thesis statement, supporting argument, grammar, punctuation, etc.

All essays submitted are the sole property of the ALERT MAGAZINE, LLC. The best essay submitted wins the scholarship and the writer will have his or her essay published in ALERT Magazine.
