Illinois State Board of Education General Assembly Scholarship

Illinois law provides for each state legislator to annually award a 4-year scholarship to the University of Illinois and a 4-year scholarship to any other state-supported university. These scholarships can be divided into four 1-year scholarships if the legislator wishes to do so.

Stipulation: Students applying for the General Assembly Scholarship must be a resident within the legislative district of the awarding legislator.

Attention: Students wishing to apply for the General Assembly Scholarship MUST contact their State Senator and State Representative for information on the application process.

No applications are available through the State Board of Education. Students wishing to apply for the General Assembly Scholarship MUST contact their State Senator and State Representative for information on the application process.
