Posse Foundation Scholarship

The Posse Foundation assists schools in identifying and recruiting exceptional groups of diverse students. Winners of the Posse scholarship will be afforded full tuition for four years to one of the Posse Foundation's partner universities. Students who are chosen to participate in the Posse Program will undergo an eight-month workshop during which they will meet for two hours per week to prepare for the rigors of top-tier colleges. With the program's help, they will be able to hone their cross-cultural communication, leadership and academic skills. The Posse Program has workshop sites in major cities across the United States inlcluding Boston, Chicago, Los Angeles, Miami, New York, Washington, D.C., and Atlanta.

Students interested in applying will need to either nominate themselves, or be nominated by a counselor, a community foundation or a Posse alumnus. Nominated students will undergo a three-step election process. During the first step, the foundation will place them in situations that highlight their public speaking, listening, negotiation and communication skills. Those selected to move on to the next step will be invited back for an interview. In the final recruitment stage, applicants will undergo a finalist workshop where Posse staff and university representatives select the university posse winners for that year.
