The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund
The Francis Ouimet Scholarship Fund is considered "The Golf Charity of Massachusetts" and is one of the largest independent scholarship organizations in New England. The Ouimet Fund was founded in 1949 and since that time has awarded over $14.2 Million in need-based college tuition assistance scholarships. The Ouimet Fund is a 501 (c) (3) organization, to which contributions are tax-deductible. The scholarship program is professionally managed.
The Ouimet Scholarship is a renewable, need and merit based, competitive undergraduate scholarship. Ouimet scholarships range from $1,500 to $7,500 per year, depending on financial need and ranking in our competitive evaluation process. The value of the award over four years can be $10,000 to $20,000 or more.
To be eligible for a Ouimet Scholarship applicants must have completed at least two years service to golf as caddies, helpers in the pro shop, or course superintendent operations at a club in Massachusetts. The Ouimet Scholarship is competitive, with applicants evaluated based upon golf service, academic excellence, character and financial need.
