Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi Scholarships

The Episcopal Diocese of Mississippi Scholarships awards a number of scholarships to college-bound Mississippi Episcopalians. Award deadlines and eligibility criteria vary, so please read the descriptions of the awards carefully and visit the website for application information. Financial need will be considered.

Misticos Scholarships

Four scholarships are awarded annually to one girl and three boys of either the Greek Orthodox or Episcopal Faiths, to be used for the expense of the persons named attending the colleges of their choice. The late Alexander Misticos established these scholarships as memorials to members of his family.

Warren Scholarships

The late Robert Warren of St. Andrew's Episcopal Cathedral established the Warren Trust Scholarships. Criteria for the award of Warren Scholarships are similar to those for Misticos Scholarships, but young women are given preference. The same application is used for Misticos and Warren Scholarships. The scholarships are awarded to students who show financial need and show distinction in the areas of academic achievement, leadership, extracurricular accomplishments and leadership in their church. Applications are due March 1.

Capers Scholarships

The Charlotte Capers Scholarship is for Episcopal college students from Mississippi who are receiving an education with an emphasis in the liberal arts. Scholarships are awarded annually and applicants with financial need are given preference.

Okolona Scholarships

The Trustees of the Okolona College Endowment established annual scholarships to be awarded to black college students, male or female, from Mississippi. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of need, academic performance and leadership potential. Preference is given to Episcopalians but members of all churches may apply.

Maroon Scholarships

This scholarship is awarded annually to an undergraduate student who is an active member of a congregation of The Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Mississippi to attend the engineering college or business college of Mississippi State University.
