Plan New Hampshire Scholarship

Plan New Hampshire, The Foundation for Shaping the Built Environment, is an organization of professionals within the building industries. The organization promotes good planning, design and development of the built environment because what we build, where we build and how we build has an effect on the social, economic and environmental aspects of our communities.

Plan NH champions principles and ideas that balance building projects – and this would include anything built in the public realm, such as buildings, roads, bridges, memorials, public sculpture – with the needs of people – where they live, how they get about, what services are necessary, what they value; maintaining the “sense of place” of our towns, cities and villages that make them unique including preserving historic assets, open spaces, agriculture and farming; and protecting our air, water, flora and fauna

A cornerstone of our programs is our Scholarship Program, in which we recognize outstanding students who call New Hampshire home and who are studying a field that supports our mission. This may include, but not necessarily be limited to architecture, landscape architecture, studio art, engineering, interior design, a construction-related field or trade, environmental science or similar field, and land or community planning

In partnership with the NH Charitable Foundation, Plan NH finances these scholarships from NH-based funds that were created for the purpose of encouraging and supporting students interested in some aspect of the built environment and its impact on the social, economic, and/or environmental capital of a community.
