Vermont Chafee Education and Training Scholarship
The Vermont Chafee Education and Training Scholarship was created specifically for individuals who, at age 16 or beyond, were in foster care under the custody of the Vermont Commissioner for Children and Families under specified conditions.
Applicants must:
- Attend an accredited school approved for federal Title IV funding (Pell grants, Stafford loans, PLUS loans)
- Be under the custody of the Vermont Commissioner of the Department for Children and Families (DCF) through 18th birthday - OR - be adopted after age 16 (but would have remained under the custody of the Vermont Commissioner of the DCF through 18th birthday otherwise)
- Be 21 years of age or younger
- Demonstrate financial need
