SCA Conservation Internships/Corps

From the rugged coastline of Kenai Fjords National Park in Alaska, to the grassy wetlands of the Florida Everglades and the bustling halls of the U.S. Interior Department, SCA Interns are actively involved in preserving and protecting our most prized public lands and resources.

All positions are expense-paid and tuition-free. SCA members receive a weekly living allowance, travel paid to and from site, housing, and most are eligible for an Americorps education award. Conservation Interns may serve from three up to twelve months in over 50 disciplines including :

* Archaeology
* American History
* Backcountry and Wilderness Management
* Cave Management
* Communications/Public Relations
* Environmental Education
* Engineering & Surveying
* Forestry
* Geography and GIS/GPS
* Geology & Paleontology
* Historical Interpretation and Research
* Horseback Patrol
* Hydrology & Water Resources
* Land Interpretation & Visitor Services
* Photography
* Range Management & Plant Taxonomy
* Recreation Management
* Trail Construction & Maintenance
* Wildlife & Fisheries

Gain new skills and experience with federal resource agencies including the National Park Service, U.S. Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Geological Survey, as well as many state and local agencies and private organizations.
