Green Scholarships
The environment is a big deal to almost everyone these days. Environmental causes
have been championed by celebrities, politicians, and a host of very vocal organizations
and movements. Documentaries like An Inconvenient Truth are increasingly popular
and more people are aware of environmental issues now than ever before. Concerns
about global warming in the long-term and the cost of fuel in the short-term are
pushing more and more people to consider going green. Scholarships are reflecting
this trend, as numerous providers begin awarding green scholarships to environmentally-conscious
students.
Winning Green Scholarships
Scholarship awards are offered across the
diverse range of green interests, with scholarship
money available to students ranging from sustainable agriculture majors
to average students
who just have ideas for making their communities more earth-friendly. Maybe you
organized a "walk to school" rally on Earth Day, have a plan to raise money for
a bike path in your town, or maybe you’re an architecture student planning to incorporate
green building ideas into your designs. Anyone who cares about the environment and
can back it up with a project, essay, or declared major could potentially win a
green scholarship. These scholarship opportunities
are especially welcome for truly driven students, as many green scholarships not
only pay for school, but also allow students
to implement their projects and ideas or to attend conferences to learn more about
their cause of choice. If you want to eventually launch a career in an eco-oriented
field, winning a green scholarship can be a great way to start.
By now, you’re probably wondering what green scholarships are out there and how
you can find them. Below, we have a list of some popular green scholarships from
our database of over 2.7 million awards. You can find even more green scholarships
