Intel Science Talent Search Awards & Scholarships
Since 1942, Science Service has been in the business of making dreams come true
through the Science Talent Search. Each year, this nationwide competition – America’s
oldest and most highly regarded pre-college science contest – encourages talented
high school seniors to pursue careers in science, math, engineering and medicine.
Eligible students include high school seniors in the United States and territories,
and American students attending school abroad. Each year, over 1500 students accept
the challenge of completing an entry for the Intel Science Talent Search, with finalists
competing for the top prize, a $100,000 scholarship.
Intel Science Talent Search Semifinalist Awards
Each of the 300 students named a Semifinalist in the Intel Science Talent Search
will receive a $1,000 award for their outstanding science research.
Intel Science Talent Search School Awards
The Intel Science Talent Search School Award recognizes excellence in teaching and
school support of individual student research. Each school will receive an award
of $1,000 for each Semifinalist named in the Intel Science Talent Search. The award
must be used to further support excellence in science, math or engineering education
at the recipient school. In the case of home schooling, the award will be given
to an affiliated school or school district of the home school or a qualified designee,
after consultation with the program manager. The award will be mailed to the school
in the Spring after the principal’s completion and return of the School Award Program
application.
Intel Science Talent Search Computer Awards
In addition to the scholarships, each of the 40 Finalists participating in the Science
Talent Institute will receive an Intel® Core™2 Duo processor laptop computer.
