Scholarship Description

The Reverend Pinckney Scholars Program promotes access to higher education for African American students by awarding scholarships and providing resources through a tailored program throughout college. This is open to high school seniors whose permanent residence is in Beaufort, Charleston or Jasper Counties, and who are planning to attend a two- or four-year college in the upcoming fall. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA. Students can apply for scholarships starting in mid-January with a deadline in mid-March.

Through the generosity of anonymous donors, Coastal Community Foundation established the Reverend Pinckney Scholars Program in 2016 to promote access to higher education for African American students from Beaufort, Charleston and Jasper counties. In addition to financial support, Pinckney Scholars are provided consistent mentoring and professional training to ensure their success during and after college.
