Scholarship Description

The AWS William B. Howell Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to a full-time undergraduate student pursuing a minimum four-year degree in a welding program at an accredited university. In order to be eligible, applicants must: be a minimum of eighteen years of age; have a minimum high school diploma; have a minimum 2.5 overall grade point average; demonstrate financial need; and be a citizen of the United States and plan to attend an academic institution located within the United States. Priority will be given to those individuals residing or attending school in the states of Florida, Michigan and Ohio. (A resident is defined as having lived in the specific area for a minimum of one year.)

The AWS Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. It supports programs to ensure the growth and development of the welding industry through research and educational opportunities. Our industry depends upon education that prepares the next generation to meet the challenges ahead. No awards will be paid directly to the recipient. All awards will be paid directly to the academic institution by the AWS Foundation.
