Scholarship Description

The member companies of The Transformer Association (TTA) have established an academic scholarship program for the upcoming academic year to support qualified students enrolled in degree programs who have exhibited an interest in transformers or power conversion design through course work or other activities, and who might be considering a career in the transformer industry. TTA will award a scholarship based on academic merit and the applicant’s demonstrated experience and interest in the field of power conversion. The scholarship will be awarded in the form of a one-time grant, based on the review of applications and the judgment of the TTA Scholarship Committee and Board of Directors.

Scholarships are available to college undergraduate or graduate students studying in North America who will be enrolled full time for the current academic year in pursuit of an undergraduate or advanced degree in magnetics, electrical transformer design, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or similar discipline. To be considered, interested individuals must submit a letter of application with the following information included or appended: a resume; a transcript; a recommendation letter (from a department chairperson, faculty advisor or a professor familiar with the candidate’s academic experience and achievements, and confirming the applicant’s interest in transformers); and a letter describing the applicant’s interest in the field of transformers, including courses taken, papers written, research projects, summer or part-time employment, co-ops or work study programs, and any other information that might inform the Scholarship Committee’s deliberations.
