Hi, my name is Mandy Kobernusz from Spencer, South Dakota. I am a transfer student and my major is Ag Business and Equine Studies minor at South Dakota State University. I was born deaf and had an implant surgery at age of 4. Being deaf isn't easy. I'm currently working at the daycare for Christmas break and summer break and it's not enough to pay for my tuition and fees. I'm planning using all my bank accounts and all the money I have to pay it. I do not want to transfer another college, I finally found what I want which is SDSU. I wanted to apply for this scholarship because it will help me to pay for the tuition, housing, books, etc. I don't have financial aid anymore because of my GPA is 1.68. I was just hoping to get this just for spring 2017 so I can bring up my GPA up and to get the financial aid back in fall 2017. I went to Southeast Techincal Insititute in Sioux Falls, SD and I didn't like it. So I transferred to South Dakota State University and I thought it was going well but I didn't know that my GPA does include from Southeast Tech and summer online classes. Before I transferred to SDSU, at Southeast Tech my GPA was 3.73 but only transferred two of classes from Southeast to SDSU. I totally understand that if you don't accept it because of my low GPA but I will try to bring my GPA up in Spring 2017 and use all the help that I need. Thank you for taking your time reading this!
