Education is important for many reasons. The most important reason is that you get many opportunities to become whatever you want to became in your future because in this life education is the most important things in this life. Without education life is not taking you know where that what I believe in. The first reason education is important to me is that what I want to become is big and I know without the education my dream will not come true. My dream is to become a pediatrician. I know to be able to became a doctor I have to be smart, go to to school and be responsible. Otherwise I will not be be successful nor achieve my goals. So I know I have to work hard on that to be able success and achieve my goal. My second reason for working towards a college education is that you can be a role model to others. My role model is my mother, the lady who brought me to this earth and taught me so many things that nobody else ever could. She pushes me to go to school to get an education and be there for me no matter what. My other role models are my teachers who always there for me, push me with my education to be successful throughout everything because they care so much about me and also want me to be the best in the future. I just want to be just like them inspiring other children and be their role model.

I am a 16 year old high school junior who has always dreamed of attending Spelman College. I have visited Spelman College and I love the beautiful, lively, and hopeful atmosphere. With Spelman being such a prestigious and competitive historically black college, I can imagine myself succeeding there. I desire to go into college with a English-Law major. I dream of going to law school and becoming an attorney. I also plan to dedicate myself to the oldest Greek-letter organization established in America by Black college women, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. It is essential to be determined and know what you want in live in order to succeed. I plan to stretch my arms wide, reach, and grab all the advantages this world has to offer.

I've been dreaming of going to Spelman University since I was 4 years old. I'm 17 now, and will be applying in a couple of weeks, majoring in political science/ minoring in business. Although I've never been to the college, I have always heard good news about the college. The concept of going to a prestigious Historically Black All- Female University excited me (and the fact that Morehouse is nearby the university =]) I also plan on following my older sister's footsteps and becoming a Delta Sigma Theta. I would like to tell everyone applying to this college in the future to be determined and do the best you can! I made a promise to myself at age 4 that seemed so crazy to my peers but it doesn't matter what anyone says - you determine your future through hard work... and it pays off! Good luck to everyone applying!
