The Lanford Family Highway Worker Memorial Scholarship, offered by the American Road & Transportation Builders Association Transportation Development Foundation (ARTBA-TDF), supports the post-secondary education of children of highway workers who were killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be the son, daughter, or legally adopted child of a highway or transportation construction worker
- The parent must have been killed or permanently disabled in the line of duty
- Applicant must be attending or planning to attend a post-secondary institution requiring a high school diploma or G.E.D.

- Complete the application form and gather supporting documents
- Submit documentation verifying parent’s employment and circumstances of death or disability
- Provide proof of enrollment or acceptance into an eligible post-secondary institution
- Submit the full application by the program's stated deadline
The applicant must use the scholarship award to attend a post-secondary institution of learning that requires a high school diploma or Graduate Equivalent Degree (G.E.D.) for admission. This could include any public or private: (a) four-year accredited college or university; (b) two-year accredited college; or (c) vocational-technical college or training institution.
