  • The Donald White/Mandla A. Ndwanya Memorial Fund aims to provide exceptional and targeted educational support and exchange opportunities for students in the United States and South Africa, in order to keep deserving students in school and promote cross-cultural learning and understanding. The Fund provides scholarships/bursaries for tertiary study in the United States and South Africa, as well as funding for juniors and seniors at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to intern in Cape Town, South Africa. Applicants must prove acceptance into or currently attending an accredited U.S. college or university and financial need, and must also maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA. Preference is given to first-generation students attending an accredited higher learning institution. Must be majoring in the following areas - education, science (biology, chemistry, pre-med, etc.), engineering, mathematics, healthcare, medicine, or social work. In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]

Gucci is releasing a new line of... diversity undergraduate scholarships for students who are "traditionally underrepresented in the fashion industry." The 1.5 million U.S. university college scholarship program is set to run for four years, targeting students who attend four-year universities.
