  • Junior Science and Humanities Symposium (JSHS) is a free, Tri-Service (U.S. Army, U.S. Navy and Marine Corps, and U.S. Air Force and Space Force) sponsored high school STEM competition. High school students present their original science, technology, engineering, or mathematics research while competing for scholarships and cash awards at the Regional and National level. Along the way, they are mentored by professional scientists and engineers and exposed to real STEM careers.

    JSHS awards a total of 168 awards, 147 at the regional level and 48 at the national level. Awards come in the form of cash awards or scholarships, depending on placement.
