The GMiS STEM Scholarship supports talented students pursuing degrees in science, technology, engineering, math, or health-related fields. The program seeks to empower Hispanic students and individuals committed to serving underserved communities by recognizing academic merit, leadership, and service. Both undergraduate and graduate students are eligible to apply for awards that support their studies at accredited institutions in the U.S. and its territories.
Scholarship Details
- Open to STEM and health-related undergraduate and graduate students
- Merit-based scholarships require a minimum 3.0 GPA
- Non-merit-based donor scholarships may accept applicants with a minimum 2.5 GPA
- Scholarship recipients must be enrolled at accredited 2-year or 4-year colleges/universities
- Scholarship amounts vary based on funding and donor specifications
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be of Hispanic descent and/or demonstrate significant leadership or service in underserved communities
- Must be pursuing a degree in STEM or a health-related field
- Must be enrolled full-time or part-time in the upcoming fall semester
- Must not already hold a degree at the same level as the one currently being pursued
- Must meet the GPA requirement: 3.0 for merit-based, 2.5 for non-merit-based scholarships
Application Process
- Complete and submit the online scholarship application
- Write and upload a personal statement addressing the designated topic by GMiS
- Upload your current resume
- Submit one peer letter of recommendation
- Submit one faculty letter of recommendation
- Upload an official transcript with GPA on a 4.0 scale (must be in English)
- Provide a self-photo for publication purposes
- Submit a biographical sketch
