The SWE Detroit Advance, Aspire, Achieve Awards recognize high school freshmen, sophomores and juniors who inspire other girls to pursue STEM. Eligible applicants must: reside in SWE Detroit’s section area; have a 3.0 GPA; and be a woman or other underrepresented gender in engineering and technology. Dollar amounts will vary. The Society of Women Engineers is a not-for-profit organization that supports women engineers in all stages of their career, from current professionals, stay-at-home moms and retirees, to students from the collegiate level to grade school. Our volunteers are a vital part of making a difference in our community. Founded in 1952, Detroit is one of the oldest Sections of the Society of Women Engineers. SWE Detroit is also one of the larger Sections in the country with over 500 members.
