  • The Steven J. Finkel Service Excellence scholarship was established to support the ever-growing customer service expectation within the entertainment industry to fans, artists and employees. Established in the memory of Steven J. Finkel, Live Nation’s US Concerts division seeks to support the ever growing customer service expectation within the entertainment industry. Open to students interested in the five core areas of the Live Nation business: concert promotion and venue operation, sponsorship and advertising, ticketing, e-commerce and artist management.For more information, or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website. Live Nation currently offers three scholarship opportunities; Tiffany Green, Steven J. Finkel and Live Nation -- US Concerts. Applicants may apply for only one of the three scholarships offered through this opportunity. Finalists for this scholarship will also be considered for an internship opportunity with Live Nation Entertainment. With the added support of the Living Legacy Foundation, Music Forward is able to provide an additional scholarship to support a student who has experienced homelessness and/or been part of the foster care system and is interested in pursuing a career in live entertainment. Scholarship will award students who are passionate about improving the live music customer experience for fans, artists, and employees. E-tail giant Amazon is now accepting applications to its Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program for students entering college in the fall of 2020. NC Senator Proposes Taxing of Athletic Scholarships

In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]
