  • Between April 1st - May 31st each year, students may submit an application for one of the SILA Foundation scholarships awards for use at an accredited post-secondary college or university.
    ADVERTISEMENT

    Students must be enrolled in one of the following disciplines: Insurance/Compliance/Risk Management, Finance/Accounting/Actuarial Science, Business Information and/or Information Technology. Applicants must be enrolled in a minimum of twelve (12) credit hours at an accredited post-secondary school or be employed full-time and enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours at an accredited post-secondary school. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.

Hi! My name is Liam Bigbee and I am excited to apply for the SILA foundation scholarship. I just finished my freshman year at Texas Christian University with a 3.79 GPA. I am studying pre-business currently with an interest in marketing, entrepreneurship, international business and business administration. My minor is spanish for business professionals which I am very excited about. I am applying for this scholarship to help out my family during this time. My parents both work very hard to support our family and do a great job doing so. This award would help my family with the cost of my school and would motivate me to work even harder in my next 3 years.

I applied for this scholarship because I am a young woman who works full time to support myself. My parents don't help pay for anything. I want to return to school without having to worry about paying for it along with my other bills.
