The Annual Power of Children Awards will recognize 4-6 extraordinary young change agents (grades 6-11) from around the country who are making significant contributions to their communities and the world through projects, programs or organizations they created. Winners will receive a $2,500 grant for their service work, choice of a scholarship to an Indiana school, and recognition at an awards gala and through a professional video about the awardee's initiative.
Youth applicant must be nominated by an adult. Only individual youth, not groups, are eligible for nomination. Applicant must be enrolled in Grades 6-11 during the school year of the award. Must have participated in their project, program or organization during the same school year. If under age of 18, must have parent/guardian permission before beginning the application.
Nominators must be 21 years of age or older and not a relative of the youth and must complete the application using their own words and insights. Nominators may nominate more than one youth.
Parent or legal guardian must provide permission for their youth to complete their nomination form and participate in the nomination process and must certify that, if their youth is selected as an awardee, they will attend the awards event at The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis, on Nov. 12th UNLESS the Museum determines to hold the event virtually based on COVID-19 health and safety guidelines.
