Scholarship Details
- Award amounts up to $2,000 for bachelor's or graduate students; up to $1,000 for associate degree students
- Funds can be used for tuition, fees, and books
- Scholarships are disbursed upon proof of enrollment and submission of receipts
- Applicants are notified of awards by July 15 each year
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen
- Must reside in Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico, or Canada
- Must be pursuing a degree in records management/governance, archiving, or academic library studies
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Open to undergraduate and graduate students
Application Process
- Download and complete the scholarship application form from the ALHEF website
- Write a 200–300 word essay on how your education will benefit your career in records and information management and add value to an organization
- Obtain three letters of recommendation from employers, instructors, or qualified individuals
- Provide a copy of your most recent transcript and degree plan
- Mail the completed application and all required documents to the address provided on the application form by May 1
