  • Scholarship Description
  • The Alvin A. and Hattie Mae Bush Accounting Scholarship is available to graduating high school seniors or currently enrolled college students who reside in the top 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Applicants must plan to major or are majoring in Accounting and attend Amarillo College, Texas Tech University, or West Texas A&M University. Applications must include proof of U.S. citizenship or legal permanent residency status. High school, dual enrollment and/or college transcripts, and ACT or SAT scores are required as well. If these test scores appear on the back of the transcripts, they do not need to be submitted separately.

Applicants must submit IRS Tax Form 1040 for the Household or a copy of the Electronic Student Aid Report (SAR) as long as they have NOT imported your financial information directly from the IRS. Please note that the parent’s adjusted gross income (line 85) and student's adjusted gross income (line 36) must show the dollar amount for verification. Two letters of recommendation from a teacher, pastor, employer, coach, or mentor are also required, along with a resume (2 pages or less) that includes community service, special clubs, or extracurricular activities. The scholarhip is renewable upon a 2.5 GPA and full-time student status (typically 12 credit hours/semester for undergraduate studies). Recipients are notified in June. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
