Beyond Type 1 Scholarships

• Students with chronic illnesses like type 1 diabetes show higher stress levels and challenges pursuing higher education, studies show. So, nonprofits like Beyond Type 1 are helping to level the academic playing field. Through its Diabetes Scholars program, Beyond Type 1 awards scholarships to students with diabetes across the country. The Diabetes Scholar program is funded through national donations and corporate contributions. Since 2008, the program has awarded more than $2 million in college scholarships.

  The applicant has been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes; The applicant is currently enrolled in high school as a graduating Senior or home-schooled as a Senior rising to Freshman in college; US citizens & permanent residents (US or PR students); Planning to attend a 4-year university, a community college, or a technical school in the Fall. The application is intended for students to complete and not parents.
