Scholarship Description

The Bird Dog Foundation, Inc. has established a Scholarship Fund to promote interest in hunting, wildlife conservation, and the rich outdoor heritage of the United States. The annual College Scholarship Essay Contest aims to educate students about these topics while providing financial aid to college-bound seniors. Winners receive a one-time scholarship payable to an accredited college or university upon proof of registration.

Scholarship Details

  • 1st Place: $2,000
  • 2nd Place: $1,500
  • 3rd Place: $1,000
  • Scholarships are awarded as a one-time payment to the winner's accredited college or university
  • Essay must follow all contest rules and guidelines
  • Winners will be recognized at the National Bird Dog Museum in Grand Junction, TN

Eligibility Criteria

  • Open to high school seniors (12th grade) preparing to enter their freshman year at an accredited college or university
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must reside in Tennessee, Mississippi, or Arkansas OR be affiliated with a bird dog club, organization, or field trial association in any of the other 47 U.S. states

Application Process

  1. Write an original essay based on the provided contest guidelines and suggested topics
  2. Prepare a cover sheet with the following information:
    • Full name
    • Residential mailing address
    • Email address
    • Phone number
    • Date
    • Name and address of current school
  3. Submit the essay and cover sheet following the official contest guidelines
  4. Ensure submission by the contest deadline
