FEEA champions the pursuit of higher education and each year supports hundreds of students with merit-based scholarships. Applicants must be children or legal dependents under the age of 25 of full- or part-time permanent federal civilian or postal employees, spouses of federal civilian or postal employees, themselves full or part time federal civilian or postal employees, or children or grandchildren of members of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association (NARFE). Blacks in Government (BIG) federal employee members may also sponsor a grandchild. Federal employees, either applying directly or serving as a sponsor, must be employed with the federal government for more than three years as of the scholarship application deadline.
