I'm applying for this scholarship so I won't need to stress about money too much while I'm in college. My parents don't need me to be a financial burden. I don't want them to feel pressured or overworked. To pay for my education, I began working once I became 16 and began saving all of my money at an early age. However, I need additional financial assistance. I'll continue to work while I'm in school so I can finance all of my books and contribute to my tuition. My father is an inspiration to me because, despite barely getting two or three hours of sleep each night, he worked three jobs at once to support my mother, my brother, and me. Whenever my dad came home late at night, he often taught my brother and me some spanish. He made a sacrifice so that my brother and I may flourish in life. He and the rest of my family show me what it takes to be a hard worker. They taught me that nothing in life is ever simple and that nothing comes to you for free.

Dear Scholarship.com members, I just want to say Thank you in advance! May you look upon me with favor. I am just trusting and believing that my path will be a great one and that I will always do my best to shine and be a support to others around me as well. Victory D.

Looking forward to celebrating being a recipient of this scholarship. Easing financial burden on my parents is my priority as they have already sacrificed so much to ensure that my siblings and me have the best education and resources to make us successful academically.

I am a novice when it comes to applying to scholarships and as i hope to attend a four year scholarships and attend medical school in order to help other around me and in my community out with there medical needs, winning this scholarship would be a blessing and a great opportunity for me to achive my many goals in life.

valeria s  on 2/1/2022 2:52:32 PM

I hope this scholarship will put me through college to major in nursing and minor in Spanish. I want to be more part of the community by learning my language. This scholarship will take the stress of having to pay for school and really focus on my education. I'm a first-year generation and hope to share my success with my mom and sister. If I did win the scholarship, I would still continue to work during school to gain more experience in the health field as a Certified nurse assistant. I would truly appreciate the opportunity to be able to have the chance to win the scholarship to not only further my education but my life.

Noah B  on 1/31/2022 11:49:48 AM

I have been extremely stressed about my financial situation and all I want is to make my family proud and get my bachelors degree in criminal justice so I can pursue a career in law enforcement. I have committed to running for USW this fall. Thank you.

Dylan P  on 1/5/2022 12:37:51 PM

Good afternoon, My name is Dylan Pagán and as a person from hispanic descent, I love the idea of Hispanic originated families receiving a scholarship, given most families suffer from lack of money or other financial and social issues within our country. Although it seems that the situations are getting better in the public's eyes, we don't take time out of our days to see how mistreated our people are in certain situations. I have a father that was born in Puerto Rico and a mother that was born in Panama, and seeing how far they've come in terms of economic and financial stability is concerned is beyond inspiring, so as you can imagine, having to pay over $47,000 a year on my education would put them in a position that would challenge all the hard work it took to be in the situation they're currently in. Though I'm not looking for sympathy and pity, I want it to be known that this scholarship wouldn't be taken for granted. I plan to major in real estate and minor in business management at the University of Texas at Arlington starting in fall 2022. My GPA as of right now (Senior in High School) (second semester) is at a 4.0, for I have worked hard to get where I am currently, to prove to myself and to my parents that what they went through to get here was never and will never be taken for granted. Thank you for giving me the platform as well as the opportunity to tell my story and speak my truth. ~Sincerely, Dylan Pagán

This scholarship can help me pursue my dream of becoming a Forensic Science Technician. I've always loved Forensics for as long as I can remember and by getting this I can fulfill what I've always wanted to do :) I want to attend Cal Baptist and get my degree in Forensic Chemistry and make my mother and father proud

Mackenzie L  on 2/9/2021 7:11:28 AM

This scholarship will allow me to pursue my degree in early childhood education. I have struggled in school my whole life, and worked for every good grade I got. I had amazing teachers along the way who always encouraged and believed in me. I would like to do the same for my students one day.

Victor T  on 2/7/2021 9:17:20 AM

My honest opinion is that all people who want an education should get one and get aid from the government or other 3rd party companies. As I grew up I never thought this day would come when I'd come face to face with college and now that I am here I want to get an education without putting my parents in debt. I want my parents not to worry about expenses. As minorities I think we all entitled to an education in a country that has hurt our heritage over and over again as the decades go on.

Alex Bledsoe  on 1/18/2021 7:03:48 PM

HI, I'm new to filling out for scholarships. I hope to be awarded this award as I will be going to a 4 year University. This would help me out a lot, I will also be working to help pay for my education. I will want to attend College for my Business Degree and play College Football. I am a Outside and Middle Linebacker for Kathleen High School in Lakeland Florida. Thank you.

Caroline C.  on 1/12/2021 12:31:05 PM

I am interested in this scholarship because it will provide financial assistance to attend college. I work hard, but the additional funds would help me pursue my dreams of obtaining a college education.

All as students have our reasons to apply to scholarships that give us the opportunity to follow our dreams. I wish you all the best, and never give up, always pursue what you propose. And like all these students who apply for this scholarship, I'm not going to give up on this opportunity they give us. I also need money to be able to continue studying and have a better education is my first year in college and I want to pursue my objectives I want to help my community and have the opportunity to other people, my objective is to be able to earn scholarships that can help me pay for my studies, and be a physical therapist who helps her people and give them the love they need , my experience as an added person has been very inportant to me because and learned from every step I take.

Elias L  on 12/9/2020 9:07:28 PM

All I can say is that these other people have their reasons to apply for this. I would indeed say that I hope the best for whoever receives this amazing scholarship, however; I did not come to give up on this opportunity. I too need this amount of money or whatever is or can be given to help further my education in the field of science, I am a hardworking student and I've grown with a rough childhood and did not receive the best. I am grateful for everything I receive and I will continue to give back the best way in my abilities.

My dream is to study zoology and work with animals and help conserve them in a world that seems to be casting them aside for pure financial gain. I want to show other and see the beauty of our world's creatures first hand and this scholarship would help me tremendously in seeing this through.

Naysa D  on 10/15/2020 2:24:02 PM

My entire family is Hispanic and my GPA is 3.6 and planning to have higher for next year; However, I am not sure in what I’m interested in but I do love science and cosmetology. I am looking forward to atletas win this for my future and that my parents won’t worry about me having food and something much more. I will be more than grateful for this. Sincerely, Naysa Diaz

Anthony F  on 10/15/2020 11:32:14 AM

All those who apply for this scholarship have the same gifts and struggles as all of us who are proud of our hispanic heritage. One thing that I would like to say is that throughout my entire hispanic family tree, I will be the only one who has gone to college with the help of this life saving opportunity. I implore you to please help me not fall in with the many hispanics before me and allow me to be no longer held back because of our financial struggles. I am determined to go to college to make my family proud and to honor those who could not make it because of our poor wealth.

Christian G  on 10/12/2020 9:36:26 PM

This scholarship seems like an amazing oppurtunity for highschool seniors around the country. I think this scholarship could really help out my parents financially, especially with my brother attending university as well. I would be the first women in my family to go to college and start on a good path towards my dream career!

Maya A.  on 9/24/2020 1:38:49 PM

This scholarship is a very good opportunity for me and my family. If I get the scholarship, I will use it to earn a PhD and become the first person to graduate with a Doctrine in both sides of my family. I personally will be very thankful and will make sure to impress you with my hard work.

Marie V  on 9/10/2020 4:47:01 PM

This scholarship would allow my parents to have some peace of mind over school debt. I’ve worked extremely hard over the last 4 years by taking part in many leadership clubs and even started a non-profit organization to help kids like myself. By getting this scholarship, my parents would not have to worry as much about making means.

I'm very appreciative to be able to apply for this scholarship. My father is full Dominican and has a huge background with his side of our family. I believe this scholarship opportunity could really help not only me, but also my parents.

Andrea H  on 12/29/2019 9:47:02 PM

I plan on attending Alverno college to obtain my BSN. I want to have an excellent career and job, not only to have a good future, but to also give back to all those who've helped me along my journey and many more. I plan on using the money to help pay for my college expenses. I know my parents can only help me so much. My parents grew up in Mexico and they both came from very poor families. Our family is humble. Everything we have came with a sacrifice. They have taught me to be diligent and a hard-worker. I do not take anything for granted. And I look up to my parents a lot, their impact is profound, I seek their guidance and I hope to make them proud. I want to use this money to advance my medical education. With the education I receive, I will go on to help many people and make a difference in their lives.

Emma R  on 12/27/2019 5:14:43 PM

I love the opportunity to find and apply for this scholarship. I come from a middle class family and feel very lucky to have lived fairly comfortably but my parents have made the decision to not help me pay for college and I sadly do not know much about fiances and financial aid so I will be working very hard for it. I would be beyond ecstatic to receive an opportunity like this. I will have more time to study and go to class and will be able to provide for and start my future family sooner due to the lack of loans and student debt from this generous scholarship. I will be able to peruse my dreams of being a ultrasound technician but also have time to be at home with my kids. Thank you for such a great chance.

Samuel M  on 8/8/2019 1:39:11 PM

This scholarship will not just help me ,but at the same time will help my parents because I come from a very low class family and the only way to succeed in my family is to go to school and later become someone. The majority of my siblings and cousins never reach the college education, I'm there last hope because I'm the youngest and the only one to do something that none of my family could ever do. I have stayed away from gangs and drugs all my life trying to look for the best choice for me and my family. As soon as I graduate I plan to give back to my community to show those low class kids are able to succeed if there willing to set the mind to it. Also because of this scholarship it was possible to purse my hopes and dream.

Lesly S.  on 7/10/2019 12:15:24 PM

All my life, I've wanted to make my parents proud. I'm beyond grateful just being in this country and receiving an education that many students have to fight for in other countries. In the United States, you work for what you want, it just doesn't happen if you keep wishing it does. We are the future and we do have advantage. I'm currently waiting for October to come around so that I can begin writing and brainstorming ideas of what I could write about. But if I do get this scholarship I will get through all the requirements. I'll keep my word and be thankful that an opportunity like this came to me. Goodluck everyone!

april p  on 1/8/2019 12:22:24 PM

Yes I applied and hope to get this scholarship. I want to be a vet and this is going to take a lot of schooling and will be expensive. I will need all the help I can get. I a good student, I study, make good grades, I work and live at home to save money. I graduate in May of this year and have taken 2 college classes already. When I put my mind to doing something, I am bound and determined to get it done. Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated it. Thank you in advance for your consideration. And once I am a vet, I would love to see your animals!

Emilio G  on 12/14/2018 8:10:20 AM

Achieving this scholarship is not only a reward for achieving my goals in school and in bowling it is also a reward for my mother who has been very much involved in my process, discipline and effort. She is very worried about how to cover my costs of university studies, that this would be an immense gift for both ... She is an excellent mother for me and my younger brother.

Kelvyn P  on 11/27/2018 6:15:13 PM

I come from a family where education is viewed for the weak. I want the opportunity to go into school and not worry about payments but instead, worry about how I can change the world. With all the political climate in the world I believe with my International Business degree that I intend on earning will allow me to make the difference that we all need. I will work hard endlessly to help people that are in more need than me. I want to help single parents put their kids through school and make sure that they get the help that they need. I do not want this scholarship for myself, I want this scholarship to help every child that were in my shoes.

Dulce M Gonzalez  on 11/6/2018 8:21:27 PM

As a child of two immigrants, I have witnessed first hand the struggles of two very self-motivated, hard-working people who were not able to obtain good jobs as a result of not being able to have the opportunity to go to college. My goal in life is to be able to go to college, get my degree and be able to provide for my family, but because we don't have the sufficient money to send me to college I pray that I can be granted this scholarship. College is not promised in my future due to the financial situation I'm experiencing. My dad has left my mom swimming in a pool of debts up to her neck and my mom does not get enough money by cleaning houses. I wish everyone good luck and I hope that we can all get some financial help to help us forge our path to success. Hard work pays off in the end and I hope that every single person reading this understands that life is full of surprises and everything will work out in the end.

Julio C  on 9/17/2018 10:00:04 AM

I would like to apply for this scholarship to get financial help with my studies of a auto engineering and if i have the opportunity some diesel mechanics. Life isn't easy being a household of 8 and my parents income isn't enough for me to pursue my dream career. My parents came to the U.S. looking for a better life to have a plate of food and to not face hunger as they did during their childhood. I am going to follow my dream job to make good income and give my future children a better future.

Anthony M  on 9/6/2018 12:38:32 PM

I'm just one of 7 children of my family that struggles to find a way to pay for tuition, my mother can,t able help me out unfortunately due to she has a lot on her plate.Well for my dad,I'd never had the chance to meet him but that wont define me as a person.I'm here today to strive in my career of being a orthodontist and prove to everyone that my dreams can be a reality.I won't be lucky to get this scholarship but a blessing to be able to get this opportunity.

Rasha Ibrahim  on 7/1/2018 1:09:21 PM

With all of respect,I would like to apply for this scholarship because it would help me hand for my future endeavors. We been immigrant to USA, unfortunately we bit of a financial struggle and my dream is to do my Master Degree in Journalism and Media Production. I would like to ask for a special consideration. I earned an undergraduate GPA of 2.141. While I was an undergraduate student I worked too many hours at many jobs, I felt obliged as I was the only supporter to my family to assist my father in caring our family, since my mother has been gravely ill for some time and I have several younger brothers and sisters, under these circumstances my GPA began to decline gradually as I did not have time to review my undergraduate studies at that time, knowing that I am a committed and diligent student.I will achieve success in my Master degree if I would get the assistant in scholarship, I hope you will accept my application in to be able to achieve my ambition and my dream.

Lilibeth Aragon  on 4/16/2018 8:44:25 PM

Growing up it was just my siblings and my mom and I and we all tried making money somehow and luckily we worked hard to raise enough money for our needs and I just want to further my education but I will need help from hacer in order to go to a good college. I’m praying to get this scholarship because it will be such a blessing to go to the college I want to attend !

Reagan Andrews  on 3/30/2018 5:04:33 PM

I'm so happy indeed to be in the large society of the twenty century today. Makole S.  on 3/14/2018 11:54:38 PM

As a foreigner in America, I moved to America to better my education because my parents didn’t go to college and my country Liberia is a third world country that went through civil war; the civil war was a war between tribal groups and my father’s tribe was one of the targeted group for assassination. We moved to America in order to be safe. Now, in my country, boys are more uplifted to be the bread winner and go to school then girls. I want to better myself by becoming more educated and go back to my country to encourage these girls to go to school and better themselves educationally. I am the right person for this scholarship because my country is not a very safe place for girls and young children. Before moving to America, we experienced many incidents of arm robbery and one of them I recall very much. My father almost lost his arm from his body due to the arm rubber hitting him with a machete. Also, when Armed robbers attack, they tend to rape as many women as possible. it’s frightening because they have all kinds of diseases that they contracted from previous rape incidents. I believe that it was only by the grace of God that my sisters were able to hide in the bathroom without being noticed. This scholarship will impact my educational experience by motivating me to work harder academically by spending more time on my studies because last semester I had to work to pay for some of my fees. I spent a lot of time on work more than my academics and I would work very late and sleep in class most of the day. Because of the stress that came with work, I had terrible grades and couldn’t process the materials my teachers told me. This scholarship will relieve my family and me from taking loans that payed for some of the materials I needed for school. The scholarship will also make my educational experience at UNC positive instead of stressful. I f I get this scholarship, I will have the opportunity to become a nurse and when I become a nurse, I’ll travel back to my

I would love to applyfor this scholarship because it would give me a huge helping hand for my future endeavors. My mother being an immigrant has unfortunately left us in a bit of a financial struggle so with this gift I would be able to attend a four college and help my mothers financial load that she has. I would have only the utmost gratification but I also would never stop using the gift I was given to make a difference in the world.

Tyler O  on 1/27/2018 10:35:19 PM

If I was awarded this scholarship I would no longer live a life full of worrying about the future. Due to the fact that I worry about being able to go to college every single day. Like plenty of people I will be the first in my family to graduate high school. But, I would pour every sweat and tear I have to make sure my families sacrifices will not be unseen.

Hector M  on 1/17/2018 10:44:43 AM

This would be a big help for me and especially for my parents since they would be willing to give a lot in order for me to be able to become the first in the family to attend a four year university.

having an education and be a good citizen on our society is the key to success, but in order to achieve your goal you sometimes need to reach out and ask for help to people that care and value our effort and sacrifice. I appreciate and God bless you for your contributions to people like me that without your help we will never reach our goals. Thank you
