To be eligible for the NAWIC Chapter #96 Scholarship, applicants must: pursue a career in a construction-related field; be a resident of Delaware; and be at least 17 years old. The student can be enrolled either full-time or part-time. If awarded, the recipient must maintain a 2.5 GPA. In addition to completing the application, applicants must also submit a letter of recommendation, a rating form (completed by their academic advisor), and a transcript for the three most recent quarters/semesters.
Scholarships are not automatically renewed, but the student may re-apply for subsequent awards. Applications will be reviewed by the Awards Committee of NAWIC Chapter #96, which will consider the applicant’s interest in construction, grades, extracurricular activities, employment experience, evaluations, and financial needs. Applicants will be notified of their status after the Awards Committee meeting in late April. A check will be awarded to the selected recipient of the scholarship at the end of the quarter/semester. The recipient must present their report card and maintain a 2.5 GPA for reimbursement.
